Zach’s eyes open after being in darkness for a while. The fox stretches and lets out a yawn, yet no other sounds are produced. He looks around the bus, only to see it’s completely vacant; not a single soul is around. “H-huh? Ralph? Emma? Winnie?” He slowly rises from his seat. “Where is everybody?” The fox eases down the aisle and makes his way to the windshield. Out through the glass, he makes out buildings at a maximum height of four stories and cars scattered about. “Oh no… Not Heroto…” He gets off the bus and makes it out into an intersection, yet no signs of life can be seen anywhere. “Wait, where is everybody? It’s so quiet… Why did we-” He pauses upon noticing a dark figure standing between two buildings. “Hello?” The silhouette steps into the daylight and reveals itself to be a tiger, half his size, wearing blue jeans, tape as a top bra, and a blue amulet. “E-Ezma?” “You have dishonored all of us,” states the tiger. “You’ve become our enemy.” “What? Walking along the road, the orange fox keeps his brown eyes straight forward. Not once does he look back at the town, which is already about two miles away. He clutches at his blue bandana, hoping luck will come to him while he presses on. His blue baseball cap keeps his head protected by the sun’s advancing rays, while schlepping a backpack of the same color around. As he ambles alongside the paved path, the music of nature plays; wind whistling through the trees, the ruffle of leaves as the branches dance, the harmonic tune of the birds calling out to one another. In contrast, the beautiful sounds are interrupted by the occasional one or two cars that pass him by on the road. After about a minute’s walk he now find himself arrived at a bus terminal. The platforms are near-deserted, save for a few occasional animals waiting around to travel, as well as the ones waiting in line. All is mostly quiet as there is no chatter.
